The Awakening: Chapter 7 “I DON’T THINK I’VE EVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR FACE!” Roan yelled, looking very much like a shorter, younger version of his brother, Reyn. Short brown hair hung down a little into his face, which was smudged with dirt. “YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT THEY DID TO ME REYN! THEY TURNED ME INTO ONE OF THEM.” “No they didn’t Roan, they just made you think they did.” Reyn advised. “WHAT DID YOU SAY? I CAN’T HEAR YOU.” yelled Roan, then looking at me, continued “WHO IS THIS??” “I guess my airhammer must have deafened him. It will probably wear off after a whileThe Awakening: Chapter 7

The Awakening: Chapter 6 As we climbed out of the Jeep, I gave an anxious look back at the forest edge, and could easy see several large creatures moving about just beyond the treeline. They seemed reluctant to leave the forest; perhaps they only cared to protect their borders, or perhaps there was something beyond the forest that they feared. That lesson had been a particularly painful one that Ulmath seemed to take much delight in administering. I walked alone from the lake into a rainy, moonless night to find Lexa waiting for me. “That was quicker than I expected.” “What do you meaThe Awakening: Chapter 4

Some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. & when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone...
